Grey Matter
BY ERICKA JORDAN
i pick you apart and watch you bleed,
grey matter succumbing to the weight of my fingertips.
you gaze back at me,
eyes hollow and lips drawn taught.
you say nothing,
but the tremble of your body beneath my palms is louder than your voice has ever been.
is this pain, or is it pleasure?
your breathing slows in response
i dig deeper,
fingers finding the edges of worry and frustration nestled between the the folds of your being
i pull them out and read aloud as you watch
slowing heart, growing numbness
how long 'til you notice the blood staining your hands?
